| Neodymium Care and Instructions: Please read this carefully! Caution: These beads are strong and will not just fall off a person's arm during normal wear. However, be aware that since these beads ARE strong, they will naturally get stuck to any type of metals it comes into contact with. This includes shopping carts, metal chairs, silverware, elevator doors, etc. So, be careful and aware. Be aware that strong magnets can get stuck on metals, and be careful not to lose the product. It is the wearer's responsibility to take care of the product. The manufacturer/seller of this product is NOT responsible for the wearer losing their item. The item will not be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Watch out! These magnets are STRONG and can come together unexpectedly causing pinched skin!
General: Neodymium is naturally going to rust, especially anytime it is exposed to moisture. Usually they will not rust if the coating stays on. The gold color will wear off naturally to become a silver color. The time frame for this to happen is based on the wearer. It depends on how hard the wearer is on jewelry and also the ph level in their skin. If the wearer has acidic ph levels then it will eat away at the coating.
To insure that your neodymium product does not rust and discolor prematurely please pay close attention to the following:
-Do not wear while bathing, in shower, or while swimming, etc. Simply do not get it wet. Also keep in mind that even though you are not wearing it in the water sweat can also make it rust. In fact, the salt in the sweat can break the product down faster than plain water.
-If you happen to get the product wet (such as washing hands) use a blowdryer/or the hand-dryer in the bathroom to evaporate all the water and moisture off the product. Make sure there is no water trapped in between the beads. This will cause it to break down the coating and start to rust. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleaning: It is important that the product be cleaned every so often to insure that the dirt particles trapped in between the beads is removed. If the dirt, etc., is left in between the beads it will act as sandpaper and remove the coating. This can cause the product to start to rust and discolor prematurely.
Cleaning Instructions:
-Clean when you start noticing a little black between the beads. A good practice is to clean every other week unless you notice dirt starting to build up more often.
-To clean, simply take a DRY Q-tip or dry soft cloth and rub the black off the bead. To do this you will need to separate the beads one set at a time and clean in between.
-Never use any chemicals, especially alcohol to clean the product. It will break down the coating and expose the raw neodymium which has a nature to rust.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Honing Oil: Many customers have had GREAT success with keeping the NDO from rusting and discoloring by using Honing Oil to coat their product. We reccommend this over recoating with rustoleum or other paint product. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warnings: -keep at least 6 inches or more away from televisions and computer screens -Do not wear near abdomen if pregnant (better yet, ask your doctor before wearing magnets at all) -People with pacemakers, insulin pumps, defibralators, and any other electronic or battery-run medical device should always ask their Dr.'s advice before attempting to wear any of our products. -Cell phone/pda usage is fine, but if you have an LCD screen make sure the product does not touch that screen. -Wearing next to a watch can drain the battery and stop the watch. It is a good idea to never wear magnets directly up against watches.
